Book Awards Challenge Before-Challenge List

Book Awards Reading Challenge

Yes, I joined yet another reading challenge. It’s become one of my new blogging habits. I really would like to meet more bloggers, and all of us seem to get to know each other better through books since the circle of book bloggers is not too large. So I need to make a list of 12 award winning books to read between July 1, 2007 to July 1, 2008. Before that, I made a list of award winning books I had already read over the years. I’ve been partial to the Pulitzer over they years for some reason. I’ve tagged the awards in the challenge on Lists of Bests under BARC.

Most of these books I’ve liked. Feel free to ask about any of them.

Dew – It’s a very common mistake. Even the Newbery Challenge’s webpage has it with the double R’s. Are you going to join this challenge with me? I understand we’re both loaded with challenges as it is.

Hi, I’ve had great luck with the Giller Prize winners – 2 are on my favourite all time list: A Fine Balance and A Good House. I’m a good little Canadian! Can’t wait to see what books you pick.

The more I read about this challenge, the more excited I get. That’s a good idea to make a list of award-winning books you’ve already read. All the books you have up here that I’ve read, I’ve really liked: The Giver, Number the Stars, The Handmaid’s Tale, Grapes of Wrath, Fahrenheit, To Kill a Mockingbird. Found you via the Blogroll Game. I’ll be back!

That’s a very useful list. I’ve been meaning to read Pulitzers too for a while, so I might join this challenge. I could do with more Hugos/Nebulas too.
