Annual Rinse

The future is an opaque mirror. Anyone who tries to look into it sees nothing but the dim outlines of an old and worried face.
— Jim Bishop

microcosm \MY-kruh-koz-uhm\, noun:
1. A little world. Hence, man or human nature as a supposed epitome of the world or universe (compare macrocosm).
2. A smaller, representative system having analogies to a larger system.

References to Spanish actually make me wince just a tad now.

At work today, we had the talk about me not working later in the month. Even though I’ll only be gone one saturday, I took the next one off because I think I’ll need a week to recover from the trip. It’s just another excuse for me not to work any way. I am going to work this Friday probably.

Now that school is over, I can truly relax. Right now, I am looking at knitting patterns. I am going to clean my desk tomorrow morning, and see Alex, Kalil, and Mervery tomorrow for schwarma. I haven’t had shwarma in such a long time. On the down side, my immune system has crashed a bit and going to the dentist had not helped. It’s the first time this year which means that I’ve pulled away from that post-China slump of having so many breakouts. I hope it disappears by thursday when I get to Montreal.

My jeans felt a tad looser today. I’m starting to lose my winter weight. None of my trousers fit properly because they are all too big at the legs and the waist. Due to my hips, I can never find pants that fit me perfectly. The trend this season is skinny jeans, something I’ll never really know.

So many things to do.
