Transition

September 14th, 2006

I like nonsense — it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope…and that enables you to laugh at all of life’s realities.
— Theodor S. Geisel, a.k.a. “Dr. Seuss”

I was barely able to play mp3s on this computer. Two programs made illegal errors. With the printer problems, it’s getting a bit almost unavoidable that I will a new computer soon. We’ll see what happens this coming Spring. I’ll definitely need a new computer for next school year because this cannot continue. I can get an iPod and a digital camera. Oh, my new guilty pleasure is mainstream pop and dance music. I can’t help but like the Justin Timberlake “Sexyback” song. I heard it in a club for the first time too, and it’s just got a good beat even if it is circuitious, but that’s the point.

Yesterday, I decided that I was going to go see an OBGYN. Rose, who works at the college and is the first person I met at university, told me that Health Services on campus might be able to get me a referral. I think they’ll just tell me they do the tests, and I can see them. I don’t want to ask my GP since she won’t understand why I need one. I don’t really, but I rather an OBGYN see me now. I broke out a lot this week, and I want to get checked.

Fez and I talked after class and ended up talking about people. Oh goodness, I shouldn’t do that, but I do that with school people so easily. I’ll see her and Steph on Saturday.

It’s been raining for the last couple of days. If it’s very nice tomorrow morning, I’ll try for a light jog. If not, I’ll stay in until I go buy stamps and go to work. Here’s to hoping I have a good last day of work. I met some nice people, and I can’t complain about it too much now that I’m over the critics. Money is always good. I bought my ticket for Toronto today. It’s been a busy and long week. Even with my day out on Saturday, I shouldn’t since I have to do work for both weekends.

I hate this transition period. I was in Economics this morning trying to understand things. I always forget how to study in the first couple of weeks. It seems so foreign to me the idea of writing papers, studying for exams, and just memorising these ridiculous things.

I better get into LSE in two years.
