Knit’s Back

June 29th, 2006

I would sooner read a timetable or a catalog than nothing at all.
— W. Somerset Maugham

timorous \TIM-uhr-uhs\, adjective:
1. Full of apprehensiveness; timid; fearful.
2. Indicating, or caused by, fear.

I could not sleep last night because I had a cappuccino crush when I went to the coffee shop with Alexandra yesterday. We talked and read tarot cards, and ate some decadent baked goods afterwards from the bakery near by. I also think my mild insomnia last night was due to my return of OCD knitting. I even had a dream where I made a short sleeved cardigan. I set the alarm today so I could wake up early and do more things.

As for today, I went and got one skein of purple yarn for the scarf. It is my first time knitting for someone else so I’m a bit nervous. The colour is a bit of a risk. I also bought some cable needles, sunblock and
Heinekein. Then I read another 200 pages of War and Peace. It’s a slow read even though there are some really nice sequences and there is enough dialogue. At least I made it into Volume II.

I will make guacamole tomorrow.
