About

I’m a thirtysomething Canadian. This is a blog about my interests which is mostly focused on the books I’ve read. I may also post about knitting, food, tv/movies, stationery, travel, beauty or whatever else suits my fancy.

Aquatique.net has been my personal domain since January 1st, 2001. Other than a long hiatus starting from 2009 to January 2012, the site has more or less been updated continuously for the last two decades.

Enjoy yourself and feel free to leave comments and contact me.

A note on food recipes: While I use both metric and imperial measurements, I do tend toward the former which is why sometimes I will convert the recipes for my own sake when the original does not give metric measurements. I do my best for the conversion, but please note they are definitive and not endorsed by the original recipe source.

Furthermore, I do not have a big sweet tooth and will usually cut anymore from 5 to 33% of the sugar in sweet recipes. Sometimes I will mention it, sometimes I won’t, but assume I have cut at least just a bit of sugar.

Hi Lisa! I’ve had the domain for about 13 years now and I was quite young when I bought it. I was out of ideas for domain names and taking inspiration from my zodiac sign (Pisces), I decided to be aquatic. Of course that was taken so I opted for the French word. I’m not literally very aquatic, but it was metaphorical I think? It was a long time ago. Thanks for asking. Hope you have a great week.
