Shakespeare Reading Challenge

Read four books about William Shakespeare, poetry/plays and books about him included. It runs between January 1, 2008 to June 30th, 2008.

  1. The Tempest
  2. Othello
  3. Sonnets
  4. Shakespeare: The World As Stage by Bill Bryson

Alternates: any other plays I have not read.

The sonnets will be the complete sonnets. I also just finished putting the Bill Bryson audiobook on my iTunes. It’s 6 hours from 5 discs, and I look forward to hearing all of it in the new year.

I hope you enjoy this. I love Shakespeare, but I read most of his plays in college and spent 10 years teaching a few of them, and now I’m at a point in my life where I prefer seeing the plays performed and am not so much into reading him any more.

Great challenge best of luck with reading them. Tempest is one of my all time favorites. I’ve seen almost all the plays performed and it’s the best way to experience Shakespeare – so watch them if you can get a copy of them. Again best of luck.
